Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are national climate action plans that embody efforts by each country to reduce national emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The aim of this short course is to provide you with an introduction to a) the NDC process b) the role of NDCs in tackling the climate crisis and c)how different crucial elements such as mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, gender, climate finance and participation are addressed within the NDCs.

Do you want to learn more about how NDCs can actively promote gender inclusion? This second course in the NDC series will delve more deeply into a) why gender-responsive climate policy and action is important b) how NDCs can promote gender inclusion and c) how current NDCs perform on gender. You will also be provided with examples of civil society engagement in support of gender-transformative NDCs.
